Libertad de Sunchales returns to the National Basketball League (LNB)
The team from Sunchales returned to the National Basketball League (LNB) after overcoming Estudiantes de Olavarría in the final series of the Argentine League, with a final victory of 79-68 at the Maxiestadio del Parque Guerrero of the Buenos Aires-based club.
The Santa Fe team, which played this season in the lower division due to a decision by the board of directors who couldn't afford the economic costs, prevailed with the following progress: 21-16, 42-33, 59-51 and 79-68.
Guard Bruno Barovero was once again the standout player of the Sunchales team, accumulating 29 points (4-11 in two-pointers, 4-8 in three-pointers, 9-10 in free throws), 6 rebounds and 3 assists.
The performance of power forward Ernesto Zago was also important, finishing with 18 points, 3 steals and 3 rebounds.
Alejo Montes stood out for Estudiantes de Olavarría, with 19 points and 4 rebounds.
Throughout its prolific history, Libertad has won one LNB title: in the 2007-2008 season, with Julio Lamas as head coach. Additionally, the team was the champion of the South American League in the 2002 and 2007 editions.
