Dani Alves undergoes knee surgery
Brazilian right-back Dani Alves, who will be absent in the World Cup due to injury, underwent surgery on his right knee this Tuesday in the French capital, announced his club on their official website.
"Dani Alves underwent surgery on his right knee today by the orthopedic surgery team at the Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital in Paris", stated the French champions in their statement.
"A period was respected before the intervention to authorize a surgical technique that should allow him to minimize his period of unavailability as much as possible", they continued referring to the right-back who suffered a ligament injury in the French Cup final against Les Herbiers on May 8th.
The Brazilian, on the other hand, posted a photo on his Instagram account, in which he is standing, wearing a blue patient suit and with a cap covering his eyes, as if it were a superhero mask.
The PSG defender wanted to send a reassuring message: "A few hours ago I started my recovery process and thanks to God, everything went well," he wrote in Portuguese. "As you can see (...) the anesthesia had no side effects on Good Crazy and everything remains the same. See you soon, faster, stronger and more Good Crazy!!".
Daniel Alves has worn the captain's armband for Brazil several times, with over 100 international matches under his belt. After playing for major European clubs, mainly Barcelona and Juventus, he also holds, in his 17-year career, the record for the number of trophies in world football (38 in total) thanks to the French Cup they won in early May.
