Tristan Thompson receives $25,000 fine but can play in NBA Finals

Tristan Thompson, center for the Cleveland Cavaliers, received a $25,000 fine on Friday for hitting Draymond Green, but will be able to play in the second game of the NBA Finals against the Warriors.

The Canadian player was ejected with 2.6 seconds left in overtime for a foul and then hit Green with the ball during a heated exchange, causing concern in Cleveland that he might not be able to participate in the second game, in Oakland, today.

The Warriors defeated LeBron James' Cavs 124-114 in overtime.

In addition, the league downgraded Thompson's flagrant foul 2 on Shaun Livingston to a flagrant foul 1.

Cleveland coach Tyronn Lue had previously stated that he was confident that "the league would do the right thing".
