Sergio Romero, goalkeeper of the Argentina National Team, was ruled out due to an injury and all eyes are now on Franco Armani from River Plate, one of the goalkeepers who has evolved the most in recent years.
The Argentine Football Association (AFA) confirmed Romero's absence in a tweet. Romero was one of the pillars of Argentina's recent campaigns, where they reached the finals of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, the 2015 Copa America in Chile, and the 2016 Copa America Centenario.
"Sergio Romero suffered a joint locking episode in his right knee today, which will leave him out of the squad", stated the AFA press release.
The goalkeeper of Manchester United has had little playing time, only participating in 10 matches this season, which increased the demand for Armani who became an idol at Atlético Nacional de Medellín before joining River Plate.
