Absences in the Argentine and Spanish national teams at the 2018 World Cup
A pain that probably won't let you sleep for many days. Some saw themselves playing a few minutes in the 2018 World Cup in Russia, others perhaps saw themselves as starters. The lists that have brought more absences, due to the level of the players, have been Argentina's and Spain's. Amid the decisions of the coaches, there will be fans who disagree, as well as players who express their tears on social media.
One of them was Marc Bartra, one of the 23 great absences of 'La Furia Roja' in Julian Lopetegui's list of 23 selected players. "Thank you all for so many messages and displays of affection on a difficult day for me. Good luck, teammates," says the tweet from the former Borussia Dortmund player and now central defender of Real Betis.
Bartra was chosen in the ideal eleven of La Liga at the end of the season, although that was not enough for him to travel to Russia with the rest of his teammates. Lopetegui opted for Nacho, a regular substitute for Real Madrid who has stepped in for Sergio Ramos or Raphael Varane.
Empathizing with him, Betis supported Bartra through its official Twitter account. Bartra showed his gratitude for that support and that of many teammates and friends. Now it's time to think about the next season.
Gracias a todos por tantos mensajes y muestras de cariño en un día difícil para mi. Mucha suerte compañeros pic.twitter.com/qwhc4GzuLI
