What was a tough play between Alejandro Gomez and Lucas Biglia, on Sunday was gaining more repercussion as the week went on, and involving more and more protagonists. In the match of the penultimate round of Serie A between Atalanta and Milan, 'Papu' jumped to go for a ball and hit his compatriot Biglia hard on the back, right in the same place as his injury. That same Sunday, he told La Nación that he never had the intention of causing him any harm, but it didn't take long for various statements and conjectures to arrive.
This Thursday it was Sergio Aguero in dialogue with TyC Sports who referred to the incident: "It was seen that it was a strong play and in the area where Biglia already had an injury. If it were me, I would have also gotten angry and waited for him in the tunnel to tell him everything."
ANOTHER BAD THING FOR SAMPA! "Papu" Gomez hit a hard knee in the back of Lucas Biglia, who did not come out to play the second half in the match between #Atalanta and #Milan for the #SerieA. Will the midfielder be able to play in #Russia2018 🏆? pic.twitter.com/662RdY6hCI

In the face of the uproar that was generated, 'Papu' Gomez spoke again about the issue: "It seems like a huge nonsense that they are talking about that play with so many issues that the national team and the AFA have." "I have known 'Kun' for a long time. I cannot respond to what he said. It is not worth it," he excused himself.
"I'm having a terrible time because of Lucas. That anyone comes out and says that I'm a dirty player, that I did it because I wasn't in the squad... they say any absurdity," he assured.
"It was an unfortunate event between two Argentines. I went to get the ball very high and my way of jumping is always like that... I take a thousand knee hits, it has happened to me with 'Flaco' Fazio, and there is no bad intention," he said referring to the play and concluded: "I am a little tired of the issue."
