FIFA World Cup 2018: Paolo Guerrero Denied Chance to Play
After learning the decision of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) that leaves him without chances to play in the FIFA World Cup 2018, Paolo Guerrero organized a meeting with several journalists last Wednesday. The Peruvian forward's goal was to clarify certain points about his case.
Among other details, Beto Ortiz explained on his show 'Beto a Saber' the reasons why Guerrero is resentful towards the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF).

"Paolo Guerrero says that the Federation only started investigating informally in December. That nobody called him for six months, that he tried to communicate with Edwin Oviedo and received no response, that even coach Gareca never called him. That even FIFA's president was here and nobody took advantage of the situation to talk about the case," commented the journalist.
He added: "Additionally, he mentioned that although the nutritionist made a statement, they did not allow her to notarize a declaration for it to be presented as evidence. Also, that she was dismissed in a confusing way because she was fired and then reintegrated."
On the other hand, Beto Ortiz, on a personal opinion, stated: "The issue of the national team continuing to concentrate in the same hotel seems irrelevant to us. Ultimately, it's a team and this hotel provides them with a complete floor and they will continue concentrating there. We don't support Paolo Guerrero on that point, but we do support him on the fact that the hotel refused to provide information, despite what they explained in their latest public statement.
