Oporto without Casillas ends the season with a victory
Oporto without Casillas, who was not called up, concluded the 2017-2018 season with an away victory of 0-1 against Vitória de Guimarães to close a campaign in which, after four consecutive leagues for Benfica, they won the Portuguese national championship again.
The first half ended in a tie, although the best chances were for Oporto, especially the Portuguese international forward Gonçalo Paciência.
In the second half, Spanish player Iván Marcano was responsible for scoring the only goal of the match in the 68th minute, thanks to a precise header from the penalty spot, after a free kick from the left taken by the Brazilian Alex Telles.
Tomorrow's Sunday matchday will be very exciting, as Sporting and Benfica, tied on points, will fight for the second position, which grants access to the Champions League preliminary round.
In addition, in the bottom of the table, there are five teams separated by 3 points -Moreirense, Feirense, Paços de Ferreira, Setúbal and Estoril- who will fight to avoid the two relegation spots.
