The interest of Real Madrid in Robert Lewandowski has been going on for several years; however, the merengues have not been able to sign the Bayern Munich striker yet. According to 'Sky Sports Germany', the negotiations between the Spanish team and the forward and his agent have come to an end.
The main barrier is Bayern Munich, who insists on not selling the player. In addition, the club's general director declared about the issue on May 9, where he insisted that the player will continue to fulfill his contract.
"We are very lucky to have Lewandowski and even more so that he has signed a long contract with us. There is nothing to worry about. He will also play at Bayern Munich next season," said the director.
Robert Lewandowski's contract with the Bavarian team ends in 2021. With this, it becomes more difficult for the 30-year-old forward to sign with Real Madrid for the next season.
It should be noted that the Polish forward joined the German team in July 2014. Since his integration into the club, he has scored 150 goals in 193 matches.
