Dani Alves will be out of the World Cup due to an injury suffered on Tuesday in the final of the French Cup, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) announced on Friday.
The medical team confirmed "the impossibility of calling up Daniel Alves for the preparation period, friendly matches and consequently, for the World Cup", which will take place from June 14th to July 15th, stated the CBF.
Alves , 35 years old, suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury, requiring surgery, in the match in which PSG beat Les Herbiers 2-0 , a third-tier French club.
Brazilian coach Tite will announce the list of selected players for the Seleção, which will seek its sixth World Cup title in Russia, on Monday.
Who are the alternatives that the Brazilian coach is considering to replace Alves?
The ones with the most alternatives to make it onto that list are Fágner from Corinthians, who was even a pillar for Tite in the 'Timao'; and of course, Danilo from Manchester City, among the possible replacements, he has the most international experience.
