The possible departure of Antoine Griezmann at the end of the season to Barcelona has made Atlético de Madrid start looking for a replacement. Edinson Cavani would have a preliminary agreement with the club according to the Spanish media 'Mundo Deportivo'.
The Uruguayan player is planning to leave PSG after constant clashes with Neymar and would join the colchonero club at the beginning of the next season after the departures of Griezmann and Fernando Torres.

The main problem initially was the salary of 12 million per year that Cavani receives in the Parisian team; however, the former Napoli player would have agreed to lower his salary in order to reach an agreement with Atlético de Madrid.
According to the Spanish media, for Simeone the age of the Uruguayan player is not a problem and he even considers that the 31-year-old forward and Diego Costa would form a fearsome attacking duo.
If the signing is completed, Edinson Cavani would share the locker room with José María Giménez and Diego Godín, both his teammates in the Uruguayan national team.
