For the first time in the history of the city, Montero will have an international football match when the match between Guabirá and Liga Deportiva Universitaria de Quito, from Ecuador, for the Copa Sudamericana, is disputed this Tuesday.
The Bolivian city enters the football map of the continent after the Gilberto Parada stadium, venue of the match between Bolivians and Ecuadorians, was approved.
The Montero stadium has a life of more than 30 years, it was in the 80s when it was played for the first time in that scenario and now it will have an international match.

To be approved by Conmebol, the Montero municipality had to close the venue for six months for remodeling, during that time the grass was changed and lights were installed to be at the level of the continent's stadiums.
The match between Guabirá and Liga will be played this Tuesday from 18:15, a victory for the red team by 1-0 or more than two goals will allow them to continue in the competition since the first leg match ended with a 2-1 in favor of Liga.
