The Brazilian attacker Neymar lands in Paris
Brazilian attacker Neymar landed today in Paris, aboard a private plane, to complete the final stage of his recovery from the fifth metatarsal injury in his right foot that he suffered on February 25.
According to local media, the player's plane landed shortly after noon at Le Bourget, an airport about ten kilometers from the city, intended for private and business flights.
Neymar thus avoided most of the press, who were waiting for him at Charles de Gaulle, aboard a commercial flight from the airline Air France, on which his two main physiotherapists, Ricardo Rosa and Rafael Martini, arrived to supervise his recovery.
According to the newspaper "L'Équipe", Neymar reluctantly agreed to spend the final stage of his injury in Paris, although his priority is to be 100% for the World Cup in Russia.
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) forced him to return to silence the criticisms of the fans, deprived of their main star, the most expensive player in history, for whom they paid Barcelona €222 million last summer to sign him.
The national team doctor, Rodrigo Lasmar, who was responsible for the operation on March 3 at a hospital in Belo Horizonte and has supervised the first part of the recovery in Brazil, denied any controversy with the club.
"We are in perfect harmony with PSG and with their doctor (Eric) Rolland. He was in Brazil last week (...). Everything is going well. We work hand in hand and if Neymar is able to play before the end of the season with PSG, he will do it," said Lasmar in statements to "L'Équipe".
The French team has managed to bring their star player, but according to the newspaper, he will have little say in decisions about his life in the French capital. His intention is to be able to show him to the fans again, even if it is in the stands.
That is why he is expected to attend the Stade de France next Tuesday during the French Cup final - the last title at stake for PSG this season - that his teammates will play against Les Herbiers, a third division team.
Next Saturday, he also has plans to appear at the Parc des Princes for the match against Rennes, when the club will celebrate the league title that they have already mathematically guaranteed.
