With the expectation of arriving in full condition for the Central American and Caribbean Games of the season, ten swimmers from the Cuban team are training in Cuenca.
The islanders will have a training camp that will last until May 16th, informed Imaday Núñez, president of the Cuban Swimming Federation.
Núñez said they decided to go to Cuenca because at high altitudes the air contains a lower volume of oxygen, giving way to the production of stimuli necessary for the body to produce beneficial short-term responses such as increased red blood cells and hemoglobin in the blood, improved ventilation mechanisms, among other benefits.
