Atlético de Madrid qualifies for the Europa League final
Atlético de Madrid qualified for the Europa League final after beating Arsenal 1-0 with a goal from Diego Costa in the Wanda Metropolitano in the latter part of the first half.
The 'colchoneros' were looking for the pass to the Europa League final to save the season, because after Barcelona won the league and Copa del Rey titles, this tournament was their last chance. "We have a 50% chance (of reaching the final)," said the red and white coach before the match and he achieved it.
The 'Cholo' was not present on the field, as he was expelled for protesting in the first leg match where they drew 1-1.
Tremendous blow
At the start of the match, Atlético's center-back Koscielny apparently suffered a serious injury, leaving the field in tears and on a stretcher. Chambers came on in his place. Antoine Griezmann's face showed great concern because his teammate would miss the 2018 World Cup.
Gave it their all on the field
Just before the 30th minute of the game, Chambers elbowed Antoine Griezmann, causing a cut in his head. The strange thing was that he played several minutes with the wound open.
