A Pumas changed its face with the results obtained in the last matchday, since it has positioned itself near the qualification zone, so it arrived this Saturday to the Comarca Lagunera needing three points to continue advancing in its aspirations.
In the morning, the feline team arrived at the airport with the firm determination of playing a good match against Santos Laguna, this Sunday at the Corona Stadium, so it comes with everything, aware of the danger of the rival.
Pumas hopes that its players end Santos' undefeated streak as the host and obtain their sixth victory of the campaign, second consecutive.
They have reached this matchday as tenth in the general table with 20 points, very close to those above them, so the combination of results can put them in the playoff zone.
So in this closure of Matchday 16 of the Clausura 2018, they are playing everything and they need a win to be able to qualify and leave everything for the last matchday.
Upon their arrival and motivated by the great reception given by numerous fans, coach David Patiño acknowledged the difficulty of this visit, but also the need of Pumas.
"It's a difficult match, like all, against a good team. We hope to get the result we need," he said.
"We know how dangerous Santos is at home, they have the leading scorer and they are playing well, but we come to do our thing, we need to add three points to continue aspiring to the qualification," he said.
On the other hand, Érick Torres expressed his enthusiasm with the opportunities that open up for the Pumas team.
"We need to focus on playing a good match, I think defensively we have worked very well, we have had a very good week. We know that Santos has very unbalancing players, with a lot of offensive capability, but we focus on our game. Defend well and score goals to get the result."
The defender Rodrigo González did not travel with the team, as he is injured, while the Argentine forward Mauro Formica did not travel due to suspension.
