Fans from Argentina and Mexico are the most active, after the Russians, when it comes to buying tickets in the first 24 hours of the final phase of ticket sales for the World Cup, the FIFA informed on Thursday.
After the Russians, who have acquired 87,902 tickets, the Albiceleste fans are the ones who have shown the most interest with 7,740 tickets, while the Mexicans requested 6,598.
The Brazilians, whose team is among the favorites for victory after the fiasco of four years ago, have already requested 6,198, just a little more than the Americans, while the Germans, the current champions, have already bought 5,181 tickets.
Two other Latin American teams, Peru, which returns to the World Cup after 36 years of absence, and Colombia, are also among the most active countries with 3,799 and 3,756, respectively.
FIFA opened on Wednesday the last phase of ticket sales for the World Cup, which will last until July 15, the date of the tournament's final at the Luzhniki Stadium.
The maximum organization of world soccer has put over a million tickets on sale, which will be added to the 1,698,049 tickets already acquired by fans from around the world since September 2017.
FIFA predicted yesterday that the twelve stadiums of Russia 2018 will show a full house from the opening match between Russia and Saudi Arabia on June 14.
