Barcelona took revenge on Macará with an overwhelming 4-1 win that keeps the torero team as the leader of the National Championship, with 17 points, one more than Liga de Quito, its immediate pursuer.
The Ambateño team not only did not succumb in the previous year in its two visits to the yellow stadium, but also prevented the canaries from accessing the current edition of the Copa Libertadores with a historic victory in the last match of the 2017 national tournament, they silenced the Barcelona fans again, first with the possibility of taking the lead through a penalty kick, and a minute later with an own goal that the yellow striker Juan Dinenno scored (22m).
The penalty that referee Guillermo Guerrero decreed for handball in the area by Darío Aimar was saved by Máximo Banguera; however, from the Canary's clearance, the first goal of the afternoon would come, and not precisely from the home team.
A corner kick and in his attempt to clear, Dinenno headed towards his own goal. It was a cold shower, but the yellows quickly recovered.
Using the same formula, Matías Oyola send a shot towards the area from a free kick, a celestial player missed his header clearance, and Aimar (29m) pushed the ball with his head to make the score 1-1.
Barcelona turned the game around at 38m with a header from Marcos Caicedo, after connecting a perfect cross from right-back Mario Pineida.
The third and fourth goals were scored by Dinenno (56m and 62m) who only had to push the ball into the net in both occasions: the first time, after a cross from Arroyo that caused confusion in the small area and found the right foot of the Argentine player; in the second, following a delivery from Marcos Caicedo that seemed to be getting lost before Dinenno successfully connected to seal the yellow victory (62m).
Barcelona will face Emelec next Sunday in the first Clásico del Astillero of the season.
