Journalists in Brazil take a stand against sexism in sports journalism
Female sports journalists in Brazil have raised their voices and spoken out against the sexism they face in their work and newsrooms.
The union has come together in the #Deixaelatrabalhar ("Let Her Work") campaign, which has gained international significance on social media, where support has been abundant.
A video exposes the cases that female reporters, communicators, and analysts in the sports field experience on a daily basis, whether it be discrimination or harassment. "We are women and we are professionals," they state in the video. "We just want to work in peace; sports is also our place and we want respect."
Worldwide, sexism in sports journalism has affected many women who have struggled to perform their work.
