With their hand on their chest and their eyes towards the sky, the Peruvian National Team sang the national anthem at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. And it was an emotional moment. Ricardo Gareca's team felt at home, for sure, against a surprised Croatia.
With over 40 thousand Peruvian fans in the stadium, the 'blanquirroja' was welcomed amidst lights and giant screens. Even the national emblem was projected, generating euphoria in the ovations.
With Christian Ramos as captain, the Peruvian National Team returned to international friendlies as part of their preparation for the World Cup. And they did well. Gareca's pupils performed well and snatched the victory from a favored Croatia.
With goals from André Carrillo and Edison Flores, Peru continued their good form in the victory against Croatia. The 'blanquirroja' showed sobriety and intelligence to defend an important unbeaten streak.
Keep in mind, Peru has not lost in 11 matches (including friendlies and World Cup qualifiers). The last time the 'blanquirroja' lost was against Brazil (November 2016).
