Capitains appealed to the miracle and managed to beat Fuerza Regia 69-68 in the first game of the semifinals in the National Professional Basketball League.
However, Hector Hernandez, the team captain, highlights that nothing is secured yet and this was just the beginning, so they will have to improve some details to win the next matches.
"I know you think we should celebrate, but we need to focus because there is another game tomorrow and we need to improve on defense," said the team leader.
Despite taking the lead in the series, Hernandez knows that the defending champion is one of the most complete teams in the league, so countering them and keeping them at bay is a priority, as they did in the third and last quarter.
"Fuerza Regia players are very good, very skilled and know how to shoot, but that's why we need to work on defense really well to get a good result."
But what is the key if they want to win this second match at the Juan de la Barrera Gymnasium and arrive in Monterrey with a mental advantage to achieve the pass? The captain believes that taking advantage of the home court and the support of the fans can be, as it was in this first match, the key to securing the victory, in addition to being focused on the game, which went against them in the first two quarters.
"We need to come out focused from the first second, work on offense and defense, and of course, be supported by our fans."
