Peru vs Venezuela: Amorebieta receives a red card
The match between Peru and Venezuela was intense, as while the 'Vinotinto' were looking for qualification, the Incas wanted to stay alive. However, despite the importance of the game, the play that stole all the attention was the red card suffered by defender Fernando Amorebieta.
It was the 29th minute when the former Athletic Bilbao player couldn't stop Paolo Guerrero and ended up preventing him from continuing with the ball. The foul was called, but in the same play, Amorebieta jumped on the player and ended up stepping on his knee forcefully.
The red card came immediately and coach Sanvicente was forced to make changes to maintain the draw and keep their chances of causing an upset.
