Operativo Rusia 2018 is already underway. The Peruvian National Team began its training this afternoon in preparation for its two friendly matches ahead of the World Cup against Croatia and Iceland, on March 23rd and 27th, in the United States.
The national team had planned to start their work with four players from the local tournament, but the presence of Andy Polo surprised everyone. The striker, who recently signed with the Portland Timbers of the MLS, took advantage of the fact that his team doesn't have any official competitions yet to request permission and join the national team in advance.
The national team players who trained at the Videna are Carlos Cáceda, Alejandro Duarte, Miguel Araujo, and Nilson Loyola. On Thursday, José Carvallo, Aldo Corzo, and Roberto Siucho will join them.
