Olimpia

Olimpia confirmed its dominance in the Paraguayan Apertura tournament by defeating Cerro Porteño in the so-called 'No to violence' classic with a goal dedicated by Néstor Camacho to his teammate Rodrigo Burgos, who is currently in preventive detention for alleged mistreatment of his partner.

Demonstrated its support and solidarity

Olimpia extended its unbeaten streak in the tournament, earning sixteen out of eighteen possible points, while Cerro remained with six points and dropped to seventh place. With the victory in the 298th Paraguayan classic since it started in 1931, the king of cups is now only two games away from equalling its fiercest rival.

Everything seemed to be in favor of Cerro Porteño, but at the 20th minute of the match, El Decano took the lead with a powerful long-range shot from left-handed Néstor Camacho, who dedicated the goal to his teammate Rodrigo Burgos, currently imprisoned at the Tacumbú prison in Asunción, accused of mistreating his partner.

Camacho's gesture coincided with a match chosen by the Paraguayan Football Association (APF) and the Government to launch a 'No to violence' campaign, especially aimed at children and young people. After that goal, neither team was able to score again in the opponent's goal.
