Driving Skills for Women in Saudi Arabia

As the law allowing women to drive in Saudi Arabia approaches, driving schools are seeing an increasing number of female students eager to improve their skills before obtaining their licenses.

And on International Women's Day, Ford decided to join this initiative by enhancing its "Driving Skills for Life (DSFL)" program, which it has been running with Effat University. Shams Hakim and has helped more than 3,600 new drivers.

The new program is called "Ford Driving Skills for Life For Her" and focuses on new female drivers, who are trained by certified instructors on the closed roads of Effat University's campus in Jeddah.

As a reminder, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud lifted the ban on women driving in Saudi Arabia, which will be effective in June 2018.

However, these drivers will still need to inform a male guardian of their destinations, as driving permission is limited to their workplaces and places of everyday life activities.
