The Relationship Between WWE and UFC Growing Stronger
The closeness between WWE and UFC has been getting stronger, but fighters might be taking advantage of this relationship. Fabricio Werdum is the most recent example as he revealed he is in negotiations to have a presence in both companies.
The former heavyweight champion gave an interview to MMAFighting, where he shared details of his career. He wants to debut in WWE without neglecting UFC.
"I think I can do both at the same time. If I have the opportunity, I would fight in WWE. It's good business. It is a show and it is fun. I would definitely do it. I have a meeting on Tuesday to discuss both (WWE and UFC). I want to fight, no matter where," said the Brazilian.
Fabricio Werdum hopes to take advantage of his Spanish to create a Latino character. The large reach he has with this community is an aspect that WWE wants to exploit, which in the end can benefit him.
The goal is to have a special permit like the one Brock Lesnar had to fight in UFC while under contract with WWE. Fabricio Werdum has been working for Dana White since 2012.
