Athletes and Observers from North Korea Travel to Pyeongchang for Winter Paralympics

The Ministry of Unification of South Korea confirmed the arrival of the 24 North Koreans. There are only two athletes who will compete in cross-country skiing. They will be the first athletes from North Korea to participate in a Winter Paralympics.

In the Olympic Games, held in February in the same city, there were 22 North Korean athletes, which was seen as a rapprochement between the two Koreas.

On Tuesday it was announced that the presidents of South Korea and North Korea, Moon Jae-in and Kim Jong-un, respectively, will hold a summit at the end of April.

The Paralympic Games, in which 570 athletes from 49 countries will participate, will be held from March 9th to 18th.
