The Contribution of the Player on the Field

The player's contribution on the field has been highlighted by Marcelino García Toral, who chose to give him rest again, something that had not happened since the elimination from the Copa del Rey and his brief injury. The match at San Mamés was the first in which the Portuguese player returned to the bench and, although he will presumably return to the starting lineup in the match against Real Betis at Mestalla, there has been a slight decline in his performance that Valencia is experiencing.

The Importance of Gonçalo Guedes

It is well known that the presence of Gonçalo Guedes has been very decisive for the Che team during the current season, with his presence being a big part of the reason why Valencia is currently in 4th place in the standings. But stars are always expected to give their best, even if they are only 21 years old. The impact of the Portuguese player has shown signs of exhaustion in recent matches, where although he was the best in attack in the duels against Málaga and Levante, he was absent against Real Sociedad, as well as in the 15 minutes he played against Athletic Club.

The offensive production of the Portuguese player has suffered a halt in his personal numbers, since he has not scored since January 17th in a Copa del Rey match. However, this situation, although brief, is not a cause for alarm in Valencia, where he is considered their standout player. The match against Betis is seen as an opportunity to see his best version again, as he already showcased in the first leg at Benito Villamarín.

Does the Future Weigh on Him?

Perhaps part of his recent lack of accuracy is due to the doubts that continue to emerge regarding his future, where the player remains focused on his time in Valencia but cannot help but think about what will happen after June 30th. The Valencians are clear that they want to sign him, and Peter Lim will soon travel to Paris to watch the UEFA Champions League match between PSG and Real Madrid, and also to put more pressure on a possible transfer.
