NASHVILLE • After a night in which he was jeered by Blues fans Friday against Winnipeg, Jake Allen is back in goal Sunday against Nashville.
Defenseman Jordan Schmaltz and forward Tage Thompson, both recalled from San Antonio of the American Hockey League on Saturday, are in the lineup. And so is Nikita Soshnikov, after just one practice with the team.
"Get him right in there," coach Mike Yeo said of Soshnikov. "What a better place than here, just to get your feet wet. Yeah, we'll give him a good opportunity. He looked good in practice, but anxious to see what he can (do).
"Obviously, it's gonna take him a little bit of time to completely be on top of his game. But anxious to see what he can add to our group right off the hop."
Soshnikov, acquired in a trade earlier this month from Toronto, will be on a line with Alexander Steen and Patrick Berglund.
Thompson is being plugged into a line with Jaden Schwartz and Brayden Schenn. Schmaltz will be paired with Vince Dunn on defense.
The Blues' scratches are expected to be Scottie Upshall, Oskar Sundqvist and Chris Thorburn.
