Yannick Carrasco, winger for Atlético de Madrid, is negotiating a possible departure from the club to Chinese football, still pending both the player's agreement with the interested team, Dalian Yifang, and the subsequent negotiation between both clubs for the transfer of the player.
The news, revealed by 'La Sexta', was confirmed by EFE tonight by sources close to the operation, who stated that at the moment the player's representative is in talks with the Chinese entity and if they reach an agreement, the offer would then be transferred to Atlético to study the transfer.
According to the same sources, the representative of the Belgian winger conveyed a few days ago to the Madrid entity the interest of Chinese football in signing the player, so Atlético, after a joint assessment between the club, sports management and coaching staff, authorized Carrasco to negotiate his possible signing.
The commitment is that, whether for his departure or his stay, it will be a short negotiation, not going beyond the next weekend - the transfer window in Chinese football closes next Wednesday - and that the transfer, if it occurs, is within the player's market value, around 60 million euros.
If an agreement is not reached, Carrasco will continue at least until next summer at Atlético de Madrid, which already rejected several offers for the winger during the last summer transfer window, including one from Bayern Munich and another one from Juventus.
The Belgian international, who arrived at Atlético in the summer of 2015 and has a contract with them until June 30, 2022, has played 124 official matches with the red and white jersey since then, 74 of them as a starter, with 23 goals and twelve assists, although his prominence has declined recently.
Carrasco, who was expected to start in the second leg of the Europa League round of 32 against Copenhagen, but probably will not play that match due to the new situation - the call for that match will be made public this Thursday - has only started in three of the last nine official matches.
