Despite the season has just begun and América de Cali has been doing a great campaign, Cristian Martínez Borja is not completely happy in the scarlet team and will seek his departure from the club in the middle of the year.
This was revealed by the 30-year-old forward himself, arguing differences with the management of the Caleño team. "I have not liked the treatment from the management, I am not happy because of that. It has been a long issue with Tulio (president), every six months he throws any news that Borja is leaving; he plays with the feelings of the fans and with oneself," he commented in a radio chat with Zona Libre de Humo.
Similarly, Borja made it clear that he will seek a change of scenery in the coming months, but that he will continue to defend and respect the colors of the Diablo. "I hope to give it my all in these six months to win the titles we have ahead; then, I will seek my departure from América myself. The treatment of the management towards the players is not good," he confirmed.
Minutes after Borja's statements, president Tulio Gómez responded to the player: "If Martínez Borja is referring to not liking the treatment we, as directors, have given him for not selling him abroad, that is his way of seeing things. I have no conflict with him and we should not distract ourselves from the football aspect," he emphasized.
