The coach of Real Madrid, Zinedine Zidane, believes that his team did "very well" on Wednesday in the 3-1 victory against Paris Saint-Germain, but reminded them that they have "five league matches" before the Champions League return on March 6th, this Saturday in a press conference.
"We did very well, we won a good match, but it's just one match. We know that we have another one coming up. But first, we have five league matches," said the Frenchman on the eve of playing at Betis in the 24th Spanish league match.
A part of the coach's press conference focused on his continuity in the white bench.
"It is very demanding, for sure, especially at Madrid. Of course, there may come a time when there can be changes, but for everyone, players, for everyone. Absolutely. This profession is demanding, but here more than in other places," he said about his position as the winner of the last two editions of the Champions League.
Regarding his relationship with the players, Zidane expressed his satisfaction.
"Of course, it's very nice to see a player come to tell me that he is happy with what I do. That's the relationship I have with them. I know very well how a dressing room works, I spent 18 years as a player and I know what they go through," he said.
"I like this connection, that there is a good relationship between the players and the coaching staff, and we have it. I appreciate everything the players can say. The other day it was Marcelo, another day it was Modric, Ramos, Cristiano... It's very nice and I appreciate it," he added.
As for specific names, Zidane praised Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored a brace against PSG.
"Cristiano is one of those you can't doubt, even when he doesn't score goals. With few chances, he can cause mayhem and we know it. I don't know if this is his best form, but he knows that there is still a lot of season left. We have five league matches before the PSG match and what we're going to do before that is important," he emphasized. AFP
