The Class 3A team race is set to heat up all day Friday, and there are plenty of top-notch individual matchups in the morning to get the day started. To be frank, it was pretty hard to narrow this list down to five, but we tried our best.
Here are five 3A quarterfinal matches to watch on Friday:
CLASS 3A TAKEAWAYS: SEP’s Lance Runyon remembers late friend on the mat
120 pounds — Kobey Pritchard (Southeast Polk) vs. Kyle Biscoglia (Waukee)
This will be the third meeting between these two this season. Biscoglia, ranked No. 1 at 120 and now 48-0 this year, bested the second-ranked Pritchard in the finals of both the Ed Winger and the Central Iowa Metro League Tournament. The winner here keeps their state title dreams alive.

Waukee Kyle Biscoglia defeated Sioux City East's Sean Heeney with a fall at 2:37 in their Class 3A, 120-pound match. Rodney White/The Register
152 pounds — Harlan Steffensmeier (Fort Madison) vs. Grant Stotts (WDM Valley)
Steffensmeier beat Stotts at the Ed Winger, but Stotts followed that outing by defeating Fort Dodge’s Cayd Lara at the CIML Tournament the next week, putting him back on top of the Predicament’s 152-pound poll. Steffensmeier is ranked third. This rematch is delicious.
