Paris, France. AFP.- PSG Advances to Quarterfinals of French Cup

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) qualified for the quarterfinals of the French Cup after defeating Sochaux 4-1, thanks in large part to the performance of Argentine Angel Di Maria, who scored a hat-trick (1st, 58th, and 62nd minutes).

Uruguayan Edinson Cavani scored the other goal for PSG (28th minute), while Florian Martin temporarily equalized the score for Sochaux (13th minute).

As a curiosity, German PSG goalkeeper Kevin Trapp was sent off in stoppage time for fouling an opponent outside the area, and Dani Alves took his place in goal since coach Unai Emery had already made all three substitutions.

Earlier, Olympique de Marseille was the "nightmare" for modest Bourg-en-Bresse, a small club in the French second division, whom they defeated 9-0.

"We experienced a real nightmare," said Bourg-en-Bresse coach Hervé della Maggiore to explain the match.

Brazilian Luiz Gustavo (10th), Dimitri Payet (13th), Argentinian Lucas Ocampos (16th, 48th, 71st), Greek Kostas Mitroglou (20th, 41st, 81st), and Cameroonian Clinton Njie (89th) were the authors of the Marseille goals.

In the other match played on Tuesday, Les Herbiers, from the third division, caused a surprise by defeating Auxerre 3-0.
