Bayern Munich confirmed their favorites status, they beat Paderborn 0-6 on Tuesday, the leader of the third division of the Bundesliga, and advanced to the semifinals of the German Cup.

The Bayern Munich confirmed its favorite condition, won this Tuesday 6-0 to Paderborn, leader of the third Bundesliga, and qualified for the semifinals of the German Cup.

Paderborn started bravely and even scored a free-kick goal, disallowed for offside, in the 8th minute that could have given a minimum of tension to a match that with the passing of the minutes became a Bavarian monologue.

Despite Paderborn's boldness and the intensity they put into defensive work, Bayern seized the ball from the beginning and the first goal came in the 19th minute through the Frenchman Kingsley Coman, who scored with a right-footed shot after a pass from Thomas Müller.

In the 25th minute came the second goal, scored by Robert Lewandowski, assisted by Coman.

The chances of success for Paderborn depended on keeping the score level for as long as possible and betting on Bayern becoming impatient, but the two goals in a six-minute span ended all their hopes.

In the 42nd minute, Joshua Kimmich, after receiving a pass from Mats Hummels that beat the entire Paderborn defense, scored the third.

Corentin Tolisso, who had come on for Müller, increased the score in the 55th minute by heading in a corner kick taken by James Rodríguez.

The final blow was struck by Arjen Robben with two goals towards the end of the match; the first in the 86th minute, with a left-footed shot after a combination with Coman and Rudy, and the second in the 88th, from close range and exceptionally with his right foot after a pass from Franck Ribery.

The victory leaves Bayern on the way to the double. The Bundesliga is almost assured, although whatever opponent they face in the semifinals will undoubtedly be stronger than Paderborn, as all the survivors in the competition belong to the top category of German football.

Bayern Munich vs Paderborn – Preview

Bayern Munich starts as the favorite in their match against Paderborn in the quarterfinals of the German Cup, which will be played this Tuesday at the Benteler Stadium.

The German multi-champion was drawn against the only survivor from the lower leagues, Paderborn, leader of the third Bundesliga and a surprise in the competition. It is clear that this is, a priori, the most unbalanced match of all.

Despite the difference in categories, Bayern Munich coach Jupp Heynckes has urged his players to approach the game with respect for an opponent he has been observing over the weekend.

The experienced strategist will have to do without center-back Jerome Boateng, who is affected by gastroenteritis, and probably Javi Martínez, with problems in an ankle.
