The Paris Saint Germain (PSG) took a step closer to the league title after beating Lille 0-3 on Saturday, a scoreline that did not reflect the numerous problems that Unai Emery's team had to overcome against the "dogos".
A "trident" that, despite the almost absolute dominance of the ball enjoyed by the Parisian team in the first half, lacked the necessary efficiency to overcome the solid defensive structure deployed by Lille.
It had to be a defender, Spanish full-back Yuri Berchiche, who broke the local wall by scoring 0-1 in injury time of the first half, after picking up a loose ball in the area following a poor clearance by the local defense.
As demonstrated by Brazilian Neymar, who minutes after wasting a great opportunity to score, scored the temporary 0-2 in the 77th minute with a sensational free kick, which marked the Brazilian international's eighteenth goal in the French championship.
Although Neymar's finish was extraordinary, no less sublime was the strike by Argentine Giovani Lo Celso, who established the final 0-3 in the 87th minute with a subtle lob from outside the box.
With this victory, PSG is eleven points ahead of the second-placed team in the French league, Marseille, who won 6-3 against Metz on Friday, while awaiting the duel tomorrow between Lyon, third, and Monaco, fourth.
