The Belgian forward Michy Batshuayi had a brilliant debut with Borussia Dortmund and scored two of the three goals in the 2-3 victory of his new team against Cologne, the bottom of the German Bundesliga.
Michy Batshuayi, who arrived this week at Borussia Dortmund on loan from English club Chelsea, stole the spotlight in a match that allowed Peter Stöger's team to climb to second place in the standings.
In his first goal, the Belgian international showed his finishing instinct, scoring with a precise shot after a run by fullback Jeremy Toljan. In his second goal, he showcased his work rate by initiating a ball steal and finishing it himself.

But even the good performance of Michy Batshuayi couldn't prevent Borussia Dortmund from suffering, as they seemed destined for another draw, the fourth in a row, after goals from Simon Zoller, who scored the temporary 1-1 in the 60th minute, and Spanish player Jorge Meré, who equalized to 2-2 in the 70th minute.
In the 84th minute, Andre Schürrle scored the 2-3 goal on a counterattack led by Michy Batshuayi. This victory also allowed Borussia's coach, Austrian Peter Stöger, to take revenge as he was sacked as Cologne's coach in early December, one week before taking charge of the Dortmund team.
