For New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, the decision to play again in Mexico will depend on the NFL.

During his press conference on Wednesday, Belichick indicated that the Patriots will play wherever they are told to.

"We will go wherever the games are scheduled, when they schedule them," Belichick said when asked if he would play in Mexico again.

During the regular season, after the 33-8 blowout victory against the Oakland Raiders, Belichick stated that they were fortunate to not face natural disasters in Mexico.

"The players did a great job with all the challenges we had to deal with," Belichick said in an interview with WEEI upon returning to Boston. "I think we were lucky that there were no volcanic eruptions or earthquakes, or anything else while we were there, when you have two NFL franchises in the area and you don't know how stable the tectonic plates are beneath us. But nothing happened, so that was good."

On Monday during Opening Night, Belichick assured that it wasn't his intention to offend anyone with his words.

"Certainly didn't mean it to be negative," Belichick said. "We had a good time down there, the people were great, it was a long way to [play] a game for everybody, no doubt, but there was a great atmosphere and it was a good game.

"I have a lot of friends [in Mexico] and one of our coaching staff, one of my closest friends, is one of the people I respect the most and he is Mexican, so I wasn't trying to offend anybody there."

On Wednesday, Belichick was questioned about tight end Rob Gronkowski, who "was limited in practice today and remains in the concussion protocol."

Finally, he was asked if he was prepared to face another 28-3 disadvantage like in Super Bowl LI against the Atlanta Falcons, where they came back from a 25-point deficit to win their fifth championship.

"We're trying to be prepared for every situation that could occur," he concluded.
