Eto'o signs with Konyaspor

Samuel Eto'o, forward for the Turkish team Antalyaspor, will play the remaining season and two more with Konyaspor, also from Turkey. The Cameroonian player's signing was confirmed on Wednesday by Konyaspor on their official website.

This will be the eleventh team for Eto'o, who at the age of 36 has had a career that includes clubs such as Leganes, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Mallorca, Inter, Anzhi, Chelsea, Everton, Sampdoria, Antaluaspor, and now Konyaspor.

During his official presentation at the Torku Arena stadium, the president of the Turkish club, Fatih Yilmaz, expressed his happiness to have Eto'o join the team and highlighted that the arrival of the African striker has "strengthened" the squad.

"When I look at his career, I see that he has been in important teams around the world. He reached the top of football. A player like him will greatly help Konyaspor. The team is not where it deserves to be (second-last in the Turkish League in relegation positions) and with the signings we have made, our team will improve quickly," he said.

Eto'o, on his part, thanked the Turkish club for the effort they made to bring him to Konyaspor and stated that in order for them to improve in the Turkish League, all players must contribute to drive the team led by Mehmet Özdilek.
