Tijuana gets second victory in the Clausura Tournament
Tijuana got their second victory in the Liga MX Clausura Tournament after defeating Puebla 2-0 in the fourth round. The Caliente Stadium was the scene of an entertaining match, with back and forth action and goals that allowed Xolos to temporarily take the top spot on the standings.
From the beginning, Tijuana took control of the game and quickly found the net through Gustavo Bou after a great assist from Ignacio Rivero. The forward took advantage of the defense's lack of concentration to score the first goal of the match at the 11th minute of the first half.
In the second half, Tijuana continued to create danger on the wings, but had a hard time converting their chances. However, at the 71st minute, Jan Lucero appeared to score the second goal and seal the victory against Puebla. Argentinean Ignacio Malcorra assisted his teammate to beat the opposing goalkeeper.
It is worth mentioning that Peruvian Anderson Santamaría was on the bench.
The victory allows Tijuana to reach 8 points and temporarily take the top spot on the Liga MX standings. On the other hand, Puebla remains in sixth place with 6 points. In the next round, Xolos will face Santos Laguna, while Santamaría's team will host Chivas de Guadalajara.
