MEXICO -- Colombian midfielder Mateus Uribe will have to serve the suspension imposed by the Disciplinary Commission of the Mexican Soccer Federation (FMF) after the Appeals Commission deemed the appeal filed by America's team to be unfounded.

The capital team appealed the one-game punishment given to their player who was sent off last Sunday against Pumas UNAM during the third round of the Clausura 2018 tournament of the Mexican League.

Prior to this situation, the 'azulcrema' team argued that the red card received by their player was "manifestly erroneous," a protest that was dismissed by the Disciplinary Commission, which confirmed the punishment.

In a statement, the Appeals Commission explained that "after analyzing the evidence available to them, they determined that the appeal filed by Club America is not admissible, upholding the one-game suspension."

Because of this situation, Uribe will not be able to be considered by coach Miguel Herrera for the match that America will play against Atlas this Saturday in the fourth round of the Clausura 2018 tournament of the Mexican League.
