The Spanish captain, Vero Boquete, affirmed that she still plans to "dream big" after last night’s elimination for the 2015 World Cup in Canada.
The Bayern Munich player, acknowledged that the defeat to South Korea (2-1) was "hard to assimilate and is a sad way to say goodbye".
"We’ll keep dreaming big and hope you keep following us", posted the team captain later on her personal Twitter account.
The team captain wanted to express her gratitude for all the support the team received in their first World Cup tournament. She hoped that their participation would see a social change in the way the women’s game is perceived in Spain and requested respect and support for the thousands of women and girls who play football in Spain.
The Spanish team finished bottom of their group after losing last night to South Korea. They drew their debut game (1-1) with Costa Rica and lost last Saturday to Brazil (1-0) in a game where they were unlucky not to secure a better result.
