Una lamentable noticia dio el piloto nacional Nicolás Fuchs en la décima etapa del Dakar 2018, que marca su último paso en Argentina.

'Nico' along with his co-pilot, Fernando Mussano, couldn't overcome the mechanical problems they had at the beginning of stage 10, which started in Salta.

The 10th stage was scheduled to start early in the morning and Nicolás Fuchs' team couldn't start due to vehicle issues.

Through his social media accounts, the national pilot expressed the difficulties they were facing.

"We have mechanical problems, we are working on fixing them. We will keep you informed shortly. Thank you for your concern," he wrote.

However, no one thought that the problems would turn into a crisis and 'Nico' would have to make the decision to abandon the race.

A few hours later, Fuchs confirmed the news, also through his social media accounts.

"Due to engine problems, we haven't been able to continue and we're abandoning. We will give you more details later. It hurts, but that's how cars are. We will have our revenge. Thank you all for your support and strength," he argued.

The last participation of the Peruvian driver was in stage 8, from Uyuni to Tupiza, Bolivia. There, he ranked 13th in the phase and in the top 10 of the general classification.
