GUADALAJARA -- Edwin Hernández defended Chivas from criticism of their playing style after losing 1-3 to Cruz Azul, as well as the pressure that Gael Sandoval and Ronaldo Cisneros may face.

"We have a philosophy, a type of game and we will stick with it," he argued, as it was the same philosophy that led them to win a double last year.

He explained that Sandoval and Cisneros are not yet the "big stars" who can bear the responsibility of the team and added that the team does not rely on individual talent, but on teamwork.

"They are not players who come to fix the small problems we have... we can't put all the weight on their shoulders," he assured.

When asked about the absence of a strong defensive duo, Hernández jokingly responded "Do you want Sergio Ramos to come?" and defended whoever decides to line up Matías Almeyda.

"They are players of high quality, Matías trusts them and I trust them," he added.

UNCOMFORTABLE TO THINK ABOUT THE NATIONAL TEAM

Despite the fact that the next national team call-up will include players from the Mexican League, 'Aris' does not hide his disappointment knowing that he is far from the preference of coach Juan Carlos Osorio.

Hernández said it is "a bit uncomfortable" to talk about the situation because he "has not been given the opportunity" but he hopes "the best players go."

"It's a great generation of players, it's good that they are being tested more and more," he responded.
