Rain Could Suspend Matches in Chile
The expected rain for the weekend in the central and southern zones of Chile has put clubs on hold, as the ANFP could suspend several matches, something that José Luis Sierra disagrees with.
"If an important number of matches are suspended, the round should also be suspended. If three matches are suspended, the round shouldn't take place. It wouldn't be fair for the tournament, because there wouldn't be another day to play them", stated the coach of Colo Colo, who at least until today will play against Audax Italiano next Sunday.
And while his opinion is just that, Mario Salas' case, which was reported by the board for his remarks criticizing the organization, left a mark on the strategist.
"Without a doubt, one takes more care in their statements, they don't say everything they feel, I think a lot about what I'm going to answer. I think about the consequences, the damage I can cause to the institution where I'm working", explained the strategist.
Check out Sierra's most outstanding statements:
Team against Audax: "We haven't been able to work normally and I haven't made the decision about the team yet. We have to see on a case by case basis, how the injured players are doing".
Paredes' situation: "I think Esteban won't have any problems playing on Sunday. But we have to see how he ends today and in tomorrow's training".
Cristián Gutiérrez's breakthrough: "He has had a good performance, that's why he has continued playing. For us, it's a significant loss because he was acting as a starter and his level was optimal. I think he should stay in Colo Colo, be a starter, and after gaining experience in Chile, choose where to go".
Another center-back? "I don't plan on replacing Jadama. I think we're fine with what we have. Paulo Díaz would be ready for the next week and Baeza's performance has been good".
The Chilean league is the 10th in the world just like the national team: "Chilean football has evolved a lot recently thanks to the Anonymous Societies, with its pros and cons. I think the clubs have grown, but we have to see if it's enough to be among the top 10. I don't know many leagues to make a comparison, but it has evolved. The ideal thing is for the evolution to have been for everyone, because so far it hasn't been that way".
Bryan Carvallo's moment: "Bryan should be allowed to develop calmly. What he has done is very good. To give him an adjective is to put him in a reality that is not the current one. We have to leave him alone".
