Moo Duk Kwan Laguna celebrates 25 years of teaching taekwondo
Moo Duk Kwan Laguna started the celebration of 25 years of teaching taekwondo in La Laguna, a time that has been dedicated not only to the promotion of the sport, but also to the educational aspect of individuals who, attached to the martial art, have managed to transcend in different generations.
Professor Jesús López, director of MDK in La Laguna, met with some of the students who are currently training at their facilities on Matamoros Avenue, in the city center.
He highlighted that parents have the certainty that their children can aspire to the national team, since the schools he directs are duly affiliated with the Mexican Taekwondo Federation.
He emphasized the growth that this association has achieved, where they have worked with children who are now experienced teachers.
"Throughout all these years, many students have passed through, some of them have their own schools and I'm glad to have started all this, but above all the results we have achieved in different aspects, including sports," he said.
He pointed out that currently there are 15 schools in the Comarca Lagunera distributed in different municipalities, with more than 500 students grouped in different ages and grades.
He highlighted the achievements they have had and the proposals to promote taekwondo at all ages.
"We have achieved many objectives, among which we can highlight the medalists in the National Olympiad, national team members, and above all, the enthusiasm generated among the new generations, who are pushing hard," he explained.
He mentioned that through the national president of MDK, Isaías Dueñes, they focus on discipline, safety in students, to contribute to the comprehensive training of students from a young age, which has resulted in significant benefits.
"We have our tournament, the third edition will take place on September 22, in addition to a series of tournaments where only schools from our organization throughout the country are involved," he said.
Regarding projects, he mentioned that from March 2 to 4, they will attend a teacher seminar, in addition to the tournament at the end of March.
Soon, MDK will open a school in Francisco I. Madero, the one in Gregorio A. García has already opened, and they have entered universities and schools.
