Arda Turan to play on loan at Istanbul Basaksehir
The Turkish player of Barcelona, Arda Turan, will play on loan at Istanbul Basaksehir, after an agreement reached by both clubs, the azulgrana entity announced on Saturday.
"FC Barcelona and Istanbul Basaksehir FK have reached an agreement for the loan of player Arda Turan for the remainder of the season and two more", said Barça in a statement.
During that time, Barcelona maintains the possibility of transferring the midfielder "in the UEFA windows and will receive a variable sum based on his performance".
Basaksehir, on the other hand, holds an option to purchase the Turkish player.
According to the Spanish press, Barça wanted a transfer, but the Turkish club only accepted the option of the loan.
Arda Turan had joined Barcelona in the summer of 2015 for 34 million euros, coming from Atletico Madrid, but the FIFA sanction that weighed on Barça at that time prevented him from making his debut until January 2016.
The Turkish player, 30 years old, has gone from more to less in the azulgrana team, where this season, coach Ernesto Valverde has not counted on him for any matches.
In the two and a half seasons that Arda has been at Barcelona, he has played 55 games and has scored 15 goals, winning six titles (1 league, 2 Copa del Rey, 1 Spanish Supercup, 1 Club World Cup, and 1 UEFA Super Cup).
Turan becomes the first player to leave Barça in this winter transfer window, in which the azulgrana club has acquired the services of Colombian center-back Yerry Mina, who will be presented on Saturday, as well as Brazilian Philippe Coutinho.
