Ángel Correa's Heart Operation
In June 2014, Ángel Correa had to undergo surgery for a problem in his heart. He had an operation to remove a cyst in his left ventricle. The Atlético de Madrid player took longer to arrive in the capital and be ready to play under Simeone because of it.
Even at the time, he claimed that the doctors had not been truthful with him: "The doctors had told me that everything would be fine and that there was no risk of not being able to play again, but it was all a lie. They had lied to me. They didn't tell me anything before the surgery so that I would do it, but after everything went well they told me that there was a possibility that if something had gone wrong, I might not have been able to play again. Of course, everything went well and I was able to continue."
Until now, the Argentine footballer has not had any further problems related to his heart. His compatriot, goalkeeper Axel Werner, shared an image with him on social media in which the player can be seen shirtless, revealing his scar. It can be clearly seen that in the center of his chest he has the mark of the surgery vertically, which even covers a small part of an old tattoo.
