Jesus Gallardo wants Pumas of UNAM to return to the top in the Clausura 2018 tournament
After a poor Apertura 2017, which ended with two coaching changes, midfielder Jesus Gallardo wants Pumas of UNAM to return to the top in this Clausura 2018 tournament of the MX League.
"Last semester was not good for Pumas, but we have turned the page; on Saturday it was seen that we are already focused on this tournament," said the young canterano.
Universidad Nacional started the season with a 3-2 victory over Pachuca, a start that brings hope and that they will try to extend in the competition, for now they will face Atlas on Sunday.
"The team looked good on Saturday in Pachuca, thank God we got the result and we will continue working with humility. It's good to start with a win and now we have to win at home to give joy to the fans and make the team look better."
Looking ahead to the second round against "Rojinegros", he emphasized: "On Sunday we have to give our all, make more effort, and show what we are as a team."
And about the new signings, Alejandro Arribas, Yuber Asprilla and Matías Alustiza, he recognized that "they are good players, they have adapted well to David Patiño's instructions and we hope they give their best to create internal competition and be a great team."
Personally, Gallardo will seek to earn a place in the feline squad, have good performances and continue to be included in the call-ups for the "Tricolor" to consolidate himself in the 2018 World Cup.
"I am very excited, this year I want to be at my best level to be considered in the list, I want to compete to the fullest with my teammates internally and in the games show a good performance, to catch the eye of coach Juan Carlos Osorio."
The Pumas player said he is satisfied with the left back or winger position on the same side, although he admitted that he likes to play in a more offensive way.
