Sergio Ramos’ contract extension is not a done deal. It’s not even close. At least according to Spanish radio station Cadena SER. They revealed that the player is worried about the fact the club haven’t been in touch with his agent again since the statement of intent after talks with club president Florentino Pérez during the tour of Asia. Furthermore, there’s one thing Ramos is absolutely clear about. If Real Madrid are offering 8.5 million euros a season he won’t accept. He wants 10 million a season if he is to extend his contract with the Spanish club.
Ramos, according to Cadena SER can’t understand why the club haven’t been in touch with his representative in order to fix a date to put an end to the matter. And the market for central defenders is interesting to say the least, with City trying to buy Godín, Otamendi’s situation... and Ramos with extension to a contract that ends in June 2016.
The one thing that seems certain is that the Ramos saga has a fair few more twists and turns to come this summer.
